Datuk Jamaludin Bin Nasir

Datuk Jamaludin Bin Nasir, a Malaysian male aged 66, is our Independent Non-Executive Chairman. He was appointed to our Board on 16 July 2025.

He obtained his Bachelor of Science, Finance & Business Economics and Bachelor of Arts, Economics from Southern Illinois University, USA in 1984, and furthered his academic pursuits with a Master of Business Administration from Laredo State
University (now known as Texas A&M International University), USA in 1985.

He has nearly 40 years of extensive experience in financial services, including business origination and syndication, credit and risk management, and group leadership in retail, commercial, corporate, and investment banking.

Throughout his career with both local and international banks, he has held numerous senior leadership roles at Kwong Yik Bank Berhad (merged and now known as RHB Bank Berhad) as an Assistant General Manager/Head of Corporate Banking from 1986 to 1997, Dresdner Bank AG (a finance institution based in Frankfurt, Germany) as a General Manager/Chief Representative Officer from 1997 to 2005, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (an investment bank whose head office is in London, England) as Director, Asia-Pacific ex-Japan from 1998 to 2005, Malayan Banking Berhad as Group Chief Credit Officer/Group Management Committee from 2005 to 2010 and Asian Finance Bank (now known as MBSB Bank Berhad) as Deputy Chief Executive Officer from 2010 to 2012.

From 2013 to 2019, he contributed his expertise as a member of the Technical Committee of the Finance Accreditation Agency, an independent body that provides quality assurance and accreditation for the financial services industry.

From 2019 to 2024, he held the position of Group Chief Executive Officer at Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad, where he successfully led the company’s 5-year transformation and growth strategy until retirement in June 2024. He then continued as an Adviser for the company from June 2024 to November 2024.

In January 2025, he was appointed as a Senior Group Adviser of SMH Rail Sdn Bhd, a company that is principally involved in contracting in railway and manufacturer and trader in railway related products and transportation activities.

He was the past Board member of Aseambankers Malaysia Berhad (now known as Maybank Investment Bank Berhad) (1999 to 2005), Bank Pembangunan Malaysia Berhad (2016 to 2018) and the Malaysian Rating Corporation Berhad (from 2014 to 2024).
